What is a Time and Motion Study
We perform Time & Motion studies to measure the time to perform the steps in a process and to complete tasks.
We produce labor goals and standards, to help you identify and confirm the right number of staff for your workload and work schedules.
Our study finds opportunities in your process steps to increase efficiency or eliminate and streamline workflow and work.
We use Direct observation methods, if requested video studies, and also the MTM pre-determined methods, so whatever you need to support your call center, store, business and operations, we have the right measurement methods and tools for your operation.
How This Helps…
A Time & Motion Study will review tasks such as daily work tasks, customer interaction tasks, retail, food service, inventory management, service, manufacturing, healthcare and production process to accurately determine how many colleagues you need on the scheduled work shift and how much time is needed to perform the work and reach your performance and revenue targets.
For example, you currently staff 8 team members on a 10-hour shift, providing 80 hours of work time across that team.
Our study will identify if this is the correct staff level. If our study shows it takes 65 hours to support customer orders and carry out the shift work activities, that’s 15 hours a day or 3,600 hours per year, or 1.7 staff members over the course of a year and more than $64.000 in excess annual payroll.
